Lourmarin and its Market
This is a traditional market that takes place in Lourmarin every Friday morning. We recommend arriving early to find parking nearby.
It is a vibrant and colorful market, with plenty of tourists. You will see visitors arriving by car as well as organized tour groups.
The vendors are very friendly, and you can find a wide variety of local products: spices, bakery products, meat, wines, cheeses and charcuterie, vegetables, clothing, handicrafts, honey and jams, as well as works of art.
The market takes place throughout the year, around Boulevard du Rayol and Place Henri Barthélémy.
It is one of the most important markets in the region and can bring together around 150 vendors.
The village is small and can easily be explored on foot. Around every corner, you will find small cafés, restaurants, artisan workshops, art galleries, and beautiful places that are perfect for taking photographs.
We particularly recommend the Château de Lourmarin, which you can admire from the outside free of charge, or visit inside for a small entrance fee. The Château de Lourmarin is considered the first major Renaissance-style château in Provence.
Lourmarin is also part of the tourist circuit for cruise passengers arriving in Marseille. If you are staying at the port, you can book a day tour to discover the village, especially if you are there on a Friday, market day.
