L'Embouteillage de Lapalisse

On October 8, 9, 10 and 11, 2026, the next Lapalisse Traffic Jam will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the “Historic Route 7” event.
Since its bypass was opened in 2006, Lapalisse has paid tribute to the legendary Route 7 every two years, creating unforgettable memories and images. You will take part in a unique and unusual historical reenactment: the great holiday exodus to the French Riviera during the golden age of the Route Bleue.
Classic vehicle enthusiasts and Route 7 lovers from all regions and countries will gather in the Pays de Lapalisse for a parade featuring hundreds of classic vehicles — cars, caravans, trucks, bicycles and scooters of all makes — with period accessories and passengers dressed in 1950s and 1960s outfits, staged or spontaneous period scenes, and a full retro festival. Thanks to the collaboration of Thierry Dubois, historian, illustrator and enthusiast of French roads, the event has been organized since 2006 by the Communauté de Communes Pays de Lapalisse.
